OrgoMech — organic chemistry mechanism appOrgoMechO-Chem Reaction Predictor

Privacy Policy

Effective October 21, 2026 · Applies to the OrgoMech iOS app and www.orgomech.com

The short version

1. Who we are

OrgoMech (“OrgoMech”, “we”, “us”) is an organic chemistry study app for iPhone and iPad and its companion website at https://www.orgomech.com. Both are built and published by Weblak (https://www.weblak.net).

This Privacy Policy explains what information the OrgoMech iOS app (“the App”) and the OrgoMech website (“the Website”) handle, why, and the choices you have. By using the App or the Website you agree to this policy.

2. Information the App handles

The App is designed to work without collecting personal information. It stores the following on your device only, so it can run your study plan:

  • Onboarding answers — for example your goal, course, exam date, daily study target, and weak topics.
  • Study progress — reactions studied, Daily Drill answers, missed reactions, scores by reaction family, and your study plan.
  • Molecules you draw or select in the Reaction Predictor, and the reagents you add.
  • App preferences needed to display your countdown and Home screen.

This information is not sent to us or to any third party. We have no server that receives your study data, and we cannot view, export, or restore it.

The App does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, location, microphone, or camera. It contains no ads, chat, social features, or user-generated content shared with others.

3. Subscriptions and payments

Full access requires an OrgoMech Pro subscription purchased through Apple’s App Store. Apple processes the payment and manages billing, renewals, cancellations, and refunds under Apple’s own terms and privacy policy.

The App uses Apple’s StoreKit framework to check whether your Apple ID has an active subscription so it can unlock Pro features. We do not receive your card number, billing address, or Apple ID password. Apple may share limited, non-identifying sales and subscription reports with us as the developer (for example, the number of subscriptions in a region).

You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in iPhone Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions, or from Account → Manage subscription in the App.

4. Information Apple may provide

If you have opted in to share analytics with app developers in your device settings, Apple may provide us with aggregated, anonymized usage and crash statistics (for example, app installs, sessions, and crash logs). These reports do not identify you personally, and you can turn this off at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.

The App may occasionally show Apple’s standard rating prompt. Apple controls how often it appears, and any rating or review you submit is handled by Apple under its terms.

5. Information the Website handles

The Website is a set of free study guides and app information. It has no accounts, sign-up forms, comments, or newsletter, and it does not use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies.

Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically processes basic technical information when your browser requests a page — such as IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, and the time of the request. This is used only to deliver the site, keep it secure, and diagnose errors, and it is kept for a limited period under the hosting provider’s standard log retention.

Fonts and images on the Website are served from our own domain. The Website links to third-party sites (such as the App Store, AAMC, OpenStax, LibreTexts, and our social media profiles). Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we do not control.

6. How we use information

  • On your device: to build your study plan, show your exam countdown, track progress, and bring missed reactions back in the Daily Drill.
  • Subscription status: to unlock Pro features you have paid for.
  • Aggregated Apple reports: to understand overall usage, fix crashes, and improve the App.
  • Website request logs: to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Website.

We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or automated decisions that affect you.

7. Sharing and sale of information

We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties for advertising or cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs in the App.

Information is processed only by Apple (for App Store purchases and opt-in developer reports) and by our website hosting provider (for request logs), each acting under their own privacy terms. We may disclose information if required by law, such as in response to a valid legal request — but because study data stays on your device, we generally have none to disclose.

8. Data retention and deletion

  • Study data stays on your device until you delete it. Use Account → Reset study data in the App to erase your onboarding answers, progress, drill history, and study plan on that device.
  • Deleting the App also removes its data from your device. Depending on your iOS settings, your device backups (for example iCloud Backup) may contain App data until those backups are replaced or deleted — Apple manages those backups.
  • Resetting or deleting the App does not cancel your subscription. Cancel through Apple as described above.
  • Website request logs are kept only as long as our hosting provider’s standard retention period.

9. Security

Because your study data is stored on your device, it is protected by your device’s own security, such as your passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID and iOS data protection. The Website is served over HTTPS. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we keep the amount of data we handle to a minimum.

10. Children’s privacy

The App and Website are intended for high school, undergraduate, and pre-medical students and are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, email orgomech@weblak.net and we will help remove it.

11. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live — including California and other U.S. states with consumer privacy laws, and the European Economic Area or United Kingdom — you may have the right to know what personal information is processed about you, to access or delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing.

Because we do not collect or store your study data, the fastest way to delete it is Reset study data in the App or deleting the App. We do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of. For any other request, email orgomech@weblak.net; we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

12. International users

The App is offered through the U.S. App Store and the Website is written for U.S. students, but both may be accessed from other countries. Website request logs may be processed by our hosting provider in the United States or other countries where it operates.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the App or Website changes — for example if we add a feature that requires new data. The effective date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated. If a change materially affects how your information is handled, we will update this page before the change takes effect and, where appropriate, note it in the App’s release notes.

14. Contact us

Questions about this Privacy Policy or your data, including privacy rights requests, can be emailed to orgomech@weblak.net. You can also reach Weblak at https://www.weblak.net. For billing, refunds, or subscription questions, contact Apple directly at reportaproblem.apple.com.
